I’m here to distribute some information to anyone seeking to join the Men’s Soccer Club competitive team. If you aren’t already aware, we are an undergraduate club on campus that has no affiliation with Division I athletics. This club is run by undergraduate students elected to an Executive Board. We are motivated individuals who work to increase and renew funding, obtain pitch reservations, and schedule games and scrimmages throughout the year. Our competitive team competes in the NY/NJ Metro Division of the Region One Collegiate Club Soccer League. The division has teams from nearby schools, including Adelphi, Hofstra, Fordham, Montclair, Columbia, TNS, Seton Hall and Stevens Tech. This league runs in the Fall semester ending with a regional tournament. In the past two years, a Spring season has been discussed; however, for a myriad of reasons, one has not come to fruition. If a Spring season does come through, it typically would end with playoffs.
We welcome all students to join our club. For those of you interested in joining our competitive team, we will be holding tryouts during the first week of classes, possibly extending into the second week depending on whether we can get the South P turf pitch reserved. The dates are Aug 30th- Sept. 1st from 8-10pm at the South P Field. A flier will soon be posted with the confirmed dates and times on it. If you have any other questions, feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks for reading and we look forward to seeing you there!
